A75 Hardgrove Project
This project involved the construction of a new 3.6 kilometre stretch of the A75, between Carrutherstown and Upper Mains Farm in Dumfries and Galloway, providing improved overtaking facilities in both the east and westbound directions.
Grange supplied a large quantity of the materials for this project, including high specification structural concrete for the main underpass structure, all subgrade materials for the road construction itself and basecourse materials for the road surface.
We were working in collaboration with Barr construction (now Breedon of course) for the supply of the cement bound basecourse material. Barrs had commissioned a mobile concrete plant in our quarry at Kelhead and our own Kelhead stone is being used through this plant to supply the basecourse.
The pictures on this page show some of the night and day work involved in construction of the underpass which is now complete along with the rest of the new stretch of road opened in late summer 2014. Throughout this project Grange provided a system of production and technical support which enabled the project to be fully serviced in all respects throughout its duration
