Grange Construction Materials obtained the rights to extract mineral from Kelhead Quarry located 2 miles west of Annan just off the A75 in 2012. The quarry produces high quality concrete aggregates for use in the Kirkburn Concrete Depot at Lockerbie, also for the newly acquired mobile plant at Carlisle Airport and aggregates to independent and corporate Ready Mix Concrete Suppliers in North Cumbria. Rock armour, sub-base, crusher run and general fill materials are also available from its extensive supply of Limestone Conglomerate Rock.
Here you can see a few pictures of the quarry showing the work to install a fixed washing and grading plant for aggregates and the subsequent state of the art wash plant now used to produce the aggregate. The quarry processes around 100000 Tonnes of stone per annum providing permanent jobs for the local economy.
